Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to educate the learner on the roles and responsibilities of the geriatric nurse with a focus on screening and assessments for the aging client. 

Upon completion of this course the learner will be able to: 

• Discuss the geriatric nursing process. 
• Discuss the development of client goals and plans of care. 
• Discuss the establishment of guidelines for geriatric nursing care.
• Discuss the process of evaluating client outcomes.
• Review the common health screenings and assessment tools for the aging client.
