Course Description

Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to educate the learner about genitourinary conditions that affect the elderly population.

Upon  completion of this course the learner will be able to:

• Discuss the changes in the genitourinary system as aging occurs. 
• Discuss the different types and causes of incontinence.
• Describe renal function and failure in the aging person. 
• Describe the role of of the nurse caring for a client with genitourinary systems conditions.  
• Discuss different types of sexual dysfunction affecting the elderly population. 
• Discuss prostate and gynecological cancers.
